Hyundai Veracruz

The Hyundai Veracruz is a full-sized luxury crossover SUV produced by Hyundai and it is marketed in the countries like Canada, China, United states, Brazil, Middle East and Dominican Republic. The first model was introduced in the model year 2006 and it went on sale in the first quarter of 2007. It is released as a replacement to the Terracan truck. It shares most of the basic design with Santa Fe.
The mid-sized sport utility vehicle offers more cargo space than Mercedes Benz GL class and it is larger than the Honda Pilot model.
The major competitors to the model include Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln and Cadillac. The 5-door SUV model is offered in either four wheel drive or in front wheel drive.

First Generation (2007- Present)

The notable features in the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz model include rear seat comfort, quietness and build quality. On the other hand, automatic transmission performance and low speed acceleration are considered as main drawbacks.
As far as the dimensions of the model are concerned, it has the wheel base of 110.4 inches, length of 190.6 inches, height of 71.1 inches and width of 77.6 inches. The Veracruz model is slightly redesigned for 2008. It has the seating capacity to accommodate up to 7-passengers.

For 2008, it is offered in three trim versions, the base model SE, GLS and Limited. All the models are offered in either all wheel drive or in front wheel drive. The standard engine to the model include 3.8 liter V6 version that delivers 260 hp of power at 6000 rpm and torque of 245 lb ft at 4500 rpm. It is mated to 6-speed automatic transmission. With the help of powerful engine, the SUV model can tow maximum up to 3500 lbs.
The base model, Hyundai Veracruz SE comes equipped with the standard features like power driver seat with power lumbar support, automatic headlights, auto dimming interior mirror with home link universal digital and transceiver compass, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, auto dimming exterior mirrors, roof rack side rails, A/C cooled front center console storage, fog lights, and automatic headlights.

The Hyundai Veracruz GLS model comes with the features like trip computer, outside temperature display, AM/FM/MP3 audio system, air conditioning with separate rear HVAC controls, steering wheel mounted audio controls, manual tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power heated external body color mirrors and power windows and locks.
